Pinca Grottaglie
Pinca Grottaglie Italy Mid Century Pottery Mask Fountain Spitter Garden Art
$ 450.00
This large and massive wall decoration is a mid century reinterpretation of an ancient Mesopotamian mask. Perfect for the garden. It measures 14" tall, 12" wide and over 4" deep, all hand made, glazed and marked Pinca Grottaglie. Drilled, it could be used as a fountain spitter. The raw red clay on the back has a warm patina of age. On the left side there is a manufacturing flaw, a drying line where the cheek was applied to the face and then glazed. Its bright colors and large size makes this an impressive object. Grottaglie is a town in Southern Italy, known for its pottery.
