Franklin Pottery Spanish Gothic Revival Tile
$ 1,250.00
This rare tile by the Franklin Tile Company (1923-1935) of Lansdale Pennsylvania measures 9" square and 5/8" thick. Made in the 1920's its carved Gothic design is colored in an array of rich waxy matte glazes that even cover the side edges. Shown in the Franklin Tile catalog on its Inserts page Incised Silhouettes - Decorative Plaques as "401 Spanish". With only a factory glazed over clay flaw on the back edge it remains in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
This is the only example I've seen in 30 years of collecting. It can be displayed straight or on an angle for an impressive accent piece.
