Gilliot and Cie Hemixem
Art Nouveau Tile of Tulips
This press molded antique tile of tulips was made by Gilliot and Cie Hemixem in Antwerp Belgium. It dates to the beginning of the 20th Century. Difficult to capture on film, the leaves of the design are carved into the body while the white and yellow flowers stand tall above the surface. It measures 6" square and 1/4" thick. The back is marked with an "H". Only one spot of wear at the tip of a white petal and a nick on a corner.
